Pair of Spanish Colonial Cruciform Stirrups Very Rare
Pair of rare and exceptional early Spanish Colonial Estribos de Cruz / cruciform stirrups, late 17th / early 18th century. Hand wrought iron with the more rare pierced design along the cross section. Flaps have elaborate chasing / low relief design of foliate and flowers. In addition they this pair features a double headed serpent motif between the flaps.
